I have a black dog who sheds constantly. I had all my hopes up that this would be the tool. But my dog hates it and gets very upset if I use it on her. I keep trying, and she keeps fighting me, and the hair keeps falling!
I don't know if it is just my dog, or if the blade is dull or what the problem could be. But it is useless to me. |

| Using the Furminator twice a week on my Labs has cut my house cleaning greatly. My dogs shed much less than ever before. They enjoy getting brushed with this product, and it is unbelievable how much loose fur I get off of them with each brushing. |

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the FURminator performed exactly as advertised. Just a swipe down the coat with no pressure at all removes the fuzzy undercoat. The light strokes are soothing to my dog. I would discourage its use on the legs, face, or underbelly of the dog. Those blades are sharp! For the safety and comfort of your pet following the instructions as to the use of this product is a must! I believe the manufacturer should strongly warn against the use of this de-shedder by anyone but responsible and careful adults. This is not your ordinary dog brush, but a powerful tool. Used properly the results are amazing!

I used this on three separate animals, 2 black labs and a large feline. One of the dogs and the cat both resulted in an amazing amount of hair removal, the other dog experienced moderate amounts of hair removal. Most of the hair removed is the soft under coat, not the large/thicker hair on top. The dogs seemed unphased during the brushing but the cat was mildly irritated during the process.
Overall, I can see this will prevent a lot of shedding and time brushing down my clothes for work! Looking forward to that! |

I found the Furminator to be an excellent product and would be happy to recommend it. I breed and show Boxer dogs and found the Furminator to be excellent for grooming their coats.
