Description |
| The Char Broil M500 style 4 burner grill is similar to its N480 cousin but together with a series of more features this do it yet another excellent value in its own right. The grill has a excellent appliance style cart design together with 2 doors, and a combination of stainless steel and porcelain coated steel construction. The 4 burners fire out 50,000 BTUs of heat to cover the 500 sq. in. of primary cooking region and the 280 sq. in. of secondary cooking space. The 13,000 BTU sideburner of course offers a excellent deal of versatility while grilling. The M500 features a new Char Broil special "Surefire" Electronic ignition as well as the Char Broil patented "Dual Fuel" design which lets for the grill to be effortlessly converted from LP to Natural Gas together with the buy of a conversion kit (can be converted in lass than 30 minutes). As together with all grills, we recommend keeping the firebox clean to help avoid flare up as well as utilizing a grill cover to protect your invesent. |

30 minutes cooking 2 hours cleaning! 2010-08-17 |
| By J. Jones (Vista, CA) |
| I own this very unit, which I bought at Lowe's and not on sale. Yes it does rust but I have so many other complaints rust is the least. When you cook on this thing the oils and greases build up in the so-called infrared grids and really cake on, a lot of times clogging the holes. When grease drips through it will flare up and sometimes just catches fire. You cook for 30 minutes and you have 2 hours cleanup time if you want to prevent a fire next time. Many normal BBQ's you can turn up the fire and cook most of the residue off, can't do that here. If I had money to buy another BBQ unit I would give this one away! |
Rusted very quickly 2010-06-22 |

| I was excited about the IR technology. It cooked fairly well. Then the burners started rusting. Char broil said it is not under warranty and said they would replace the parts for $100. Even the front doors on this grill showed rust and I covered it after every use. Very expensive throw away grill. I recommend you read their website about surface rust and rust warranty before buying. |
Go local 2009-10-26 |

This grill is great for the price but I would shop local for a few reasons:
1. Lowe's put this one on sale a week after I got it on-line.
2. Set up is not too difficult but its not too fun either (Lowe's had free setup).
3. My grill was slightly damaged during shipping, can't happen locally.
Plenty of heat from the 4 burners, runs at 500 on low. Side burner is beter than most.
The thermometer in the lid is a great feature and one that you will not find on most
grills in this category. |
SUPER 2009-10-19 |

| My son just moved into a new home and I sent this as a house warming gift. The price could not be beat and the quality is super. He looks forward to cooking many meals on it. The shipping price more then fair. It arrived very quickly and assembled very easily. Thank you for a super product. |
Horrible 2009-09-10 |
| By Nicole Pitcher |
| This Brand is HORRIBLE. I have bought 2 grills from the same company because they are supposingly one of the best. Well just to let you know, Im 2 for 2 on them catching on fire. I have put complaints into customer service and they haven't done anything. They say its user error. Well maybe, but I have a Weber and it doesn't catch on fire. I wouldn't buy it. |
